Abrazo Health’s new medical campus in Buckeye celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting yesterday.
The 27-acre campus, located just off Interstate 10, contains medical offices, ambulatory services and an acute care hospital. It will not offer emergency services.
Located at Verrado Way and Interstate 10, it will be adjacent to the new Buckeye Commons retail development, just south of the city’s Verrado community.
Abrazo’s newest building is a three-story, 60,000-square-foot medical office building. According to Buckeye officials, it's just the first phase of a string of possible related developments in Buckeye.
The state-of-the-art, three-story facility will include cardiology, orthopedics, spine care, sports medicine, internal medicine, urology care specialists and physical therapy.
The site is approximately 90% leased, according to Abrazo Health.
"It's an honor to be here to celebrate the grand opening of the Abrazo medical office building," Mayor Eric Orsborn said. "This has been my favorite area of Buckeye to drive through over the last few years, because I've been able to watch the construction progress on a daily basis. The best part of watching this facility evolve is knowing that Abrazo is growing along with Buckeye. This is just the first of what will become a healthcare campus."
Abrazo Health leaders also alluded to it being a good first step in a multi-year investment.
"This is just the first of what will become a healthcare campus. We've purposely designed the entire desert lot to become a healthcare hub for the community of Buckeye," said Brian Elisco, CEO of Abrazo Health Group. "This is a 27-acre campus and 60,000-square-foot medical office building. We're really proud of the fact that we'll have therapy, orthopedics, primary care, cardiology, urology, and so many other high-quality health care services that the community used to have to drive an incredible amount of distance to be able to access."
The center is expected to provide an economic jumpstart in the immediate area, according to Buckeye reps.
