A-Kingdom Assisted Living hosted a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony this week, launching a new faith-based residential care facility devoted to treating residents “like royalty.”
Located at 1840 S. 239th Dr., the assisted living home welcomed members of the Buckeye Valley Chamber of Commerce, city officials, and community supporters to celebrate the occasion alongside co-owners Pastor Nasir Ahmad, Jermonte Rushing and Gabriel Knight.
“Having a mother who’s going through this, just always remember—that’s somebody’s mother,” said Tedy Burton, chairman of the Buckeye Planning and Zoning Commission, during the ceremony.
A-Kingdom Assisted Living offers 24/7 live-in caregivers, home-cooked meals, private and shared room options, daily activities and personal care support. Specialized services include Alzheimer’s and memory care, chronic illness and diabetes monitoring, and fall prevention.
The business is co-owned by two military veterans, Ahmad and Rushing, along with Knight. All three emphasized a mission rooted in dignity, faith and service.
“This isn’t just a job,” one staff member said. “It’s our calling to love people, care for them, and treat them as our own family.”
Bishop Deonté Risley offered a prayer over the facility, calling it sacred ground.
“May this be a place of peace, dignity and compassion, where residents feel valued, safe and loved,” Risley said. “Bless every room with your presence, every hallway with your protection, and every caregiver with your strength and kindness. Let this be more than a building—let it be a home.”
Flyers handed out at the event described the facility as a “clean, safe, peaceful” environment, offering care “rooted in faith, love and dignity.”
A-Kingdom Assisted Living is now accepting residents. For more information, visit www.a-kal.com or call 480-938-0552.
