The 11th Annual Buckeye Marathon kicks off Saturday, Jan. 11, with options for all levels of runners, including a Boston-qualifying full marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, and a 1-mile fun run.
The event will bring traffic restrictions and road closures to the area. Sun Valley Parkway in the Festival area will have limited access starting at 7 a.m., with two-way traffic managed by the Buckeye Police Department until 10 a.m. Meanwhile, Palo Verde Road near the Buckeye Municipal Airport will see lane closures from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with northbound lanes reopening after 12 p.m.
Residents and visitors should plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow posted detours. For more information on the marathon and road impacts, visit buckeyemarathon.com or call 623-349-6350.
