Target opens, two more big name retailers to follow in coming days

Today’s ribbon cutting of Target marked the first in a line of big-name retailers planned for the Verrado Marketplace shopping center at Verrado Way just north of the Interstate10.

Anchor tenants at Verrado Marketplace include Target, Harkins Backlot, Safeway, Ross, Marshalls and HomeGoods, along with specialty retailers ULTA, Famous Footwear, Buckle, Bath & Body Works, See’s Candies, and America’s Best Contacts & Glasses.

A host of local dignitaries were on hand Tuesday for the soft opening of the Target ahead of the store's grand opening set for Sunday.

Target, opened its 148,000-square-feet store Tuesday with more than 140 team members.

Services include drive up, order pickup and same-day delivery with Target Circle 360, with next-day delivery available to all of Buckeye.

The store also features an Apple at Target, CVS Pharmacy, Disney store at Target, Starbucks Café and Target Optical.

Marshalls, one of the nation’s leading off-price retailers with more than 1,200 stores currently operating in 48 states, D.C., and Puerto Rico, will open at Verrado Marketplace on May 21.

HomeGoods, a leading home décor store nationally, will open its newest store on May 21 as well. The new store is located in Verrado Marketplace at 1405 North Verrado Way.

Other opening dates have not yet been released.

One of the most anticipated announcements is the opening of Harkins Backlot, which will bring local movie theaters back to Buckeye, something the city hasn’t seen in decades.

  1. This is an excellent article, but I am curious as to why there is a Starbucks located within Target when another Starbucks is situated just a few minutes away?
