Sunrise Market launch delayed until December

Verrado's Sunrise Market shopping and dining center's launch has been delayed due to construction issues. A soft launch was formerly planned for Oct. 26 during the community's Fall Festival. While some merchants may open early, the official launch celebration will be planned for around the first week of December, said Public Relations Manager Ruth Rosenquist.

"There's every possibility that some merchants will be opening soon, prior to December. We are going to try to get them open as soon as possible, but I would count on the majority by the early December date," she said. "Last we made the decision that we should just hold until everything is lined up."

Sunrise Market has collaborated with a muralist who will paint in real time during the December launch. Although Rosenquist was not able to share further details regarding the mural, she said the artist has done work with Taylor Swift.

Could it be Kelsey Montague, from whom Swift commissioned a large butterfly mural in Nashville in 2019? Maybe. Visitors will have to wait to find out.

What's upcoming

The 35,000-square-foot Sunrise Market center, developed by HCCJ Family Partners, is located at the southeast corner of Village St. and Sunrise Ln., within walking distance of Main St. According to Main Street Verrado, the space is currently leased at more than 70%, primarily by entrepreneurs in the Verrado community.

"We wanted to bring a substantial and diverse offering of restaurants, food and beverage retailers, driven by the energy and enthusiasm of local operators, alongside with services that that also reflect a similar spirit and ownership," said Herve Sarteau, president of HCCJ Family Partners and resident of France, in a press release.

Businesses slated for Sunrise Market include Haymaker Restaurant; Honey Go Nails; Bobozona; Studio Linea; Torch + Kiln; W&Z Asian Bistro; Manna Movement Pilates; Thrive Swim and Ride Shop; Bosa Donuts, Coffee and Smoothies; Signature Barber Shop; DeGiNo Coffee Bar; West Rose Tasting Room; and Nosh & Hemingway Restaurant.

"Why it's so special, I believe truly, is because almost every business there is owned by a Verrado resident," said Rosenquist. "So they're truly invested in their community. And the same is happening there with Sunrise Market. It's just a collection of people who live in the community and so this is their friends, their neighbors, their family."
