Panera Bread will open its first bakery-café in Buckeye on Thursday at 20920 W. Roosevelt St. off Verrado Way, marking the 34th Panera Bread in greater Phoenix.
To celebrate its opening, Panera will host a “baguette breaking” ceremony and reward the first 100 guests with free meals for a year.
Festivities begin at 6 a.m.
Panera officials told InBuckeye that the new business will create up to 35 jobs for team members.
This new bakery-cafe, which will be open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, will include a drive-thru, digital ordering and mobile pick-up lane, as well as dine in, takeout, or order for delivery.
“We’re proud to bring our first Panera to Buckeye and excited to be a part of this vibrant community,” said Shane Weismann, director of retail operations. “We look forward to serving our guests with the delicious food and warm, welcoming service Panera is known for.”
Grand opening giveaway
Beginning at 6 a.m. on Thursday, the first 100 guests will receive a year of free You Pick Two meals, allowing them to mix and match soups, salads and sandwiches throughout the year.
Giving back to the community
Through July 9, local nonprofit organizations — including schools, sports teams and scout groups — can host fundraising events at the new Panera. During each event, Panera will donate 30% of net sales back to the participating organization.
