Students at the Western Maricopa Education Center (West-MEC) took a major step from classroom to career this week during the school’s inaugural “Career Signing Day,” a first-of-its-kind event celebrating seniors who have already secured employment in high-demand industries.

While no students from Buckeye’s Southwest Campus on Verrado Way participated in the unique event, local students will be part of a Recognition Ceremony set for 9 a.m. on May 29 at Vineyard Church, 6250 W. Peoria Ave., Glendale.
