Great Hearts Academies has appointed Geri Kirby as interim headmaster of Archway Roosevelt, turning to a veteran educator and longtime leader already familiar with the campus community.
Kirby, who previously served as headmaster of Archway North Phoenix, is widely recognized within the Great Hearts network for her instructional leadership and commitment to the organization’s educational mission.
After retiring from her role as headmaster, Kirby returned to Archway Roosevelt in Buckeye as an instructional coach, working closely with teachers and students. School officials said that direct involvement with the campus made her a natural choice to lead during the transition period.
In her new role, Kirby has been tasked with providing stability and continuity while Great Hearts conducts a search for a permanent headmaster. Her priorities include strengthening relationships with families, maintaining community trust, and ensuring that both academic excellence and character development remain central to the school’s mission.
Kirby said her decision to return to campus leadership was driven by a continued commitment to the school community.
“The mission, the families, and the scholars continue to call me to serve,” she said.
Great Hearts officials expressed confidence that Kirby’s experience, familiarity with the Roosevelt campus, and reputation for steady leadership will help guide the school through the transition while preserving the culture and educational standards families have come to expect.
Archway Roosevelt is part of **Great Hearts Academies**, a network of classical charter schools serving students across Arizona and several other states.
