Skydiving accident in Buckeye leaves man critically injured

A skydiving mishap in Buckeye on Sunday morning left a man critically injured after his parachute reportedly collapsed 20 to 40 feet above the ground, resulting in a rapid and uncontrolled landing.

Buckeye Fire Medical Rescue Department and the Arizona Fire & Medical Authority responded to the scene at 3000 S. Palo Verde Rd. Emergency crews transported the man to West Valley Hospital as a Level 1 trauma patient, meaning he required the highest level of emergency medical care for life-threatening injuries.
