Buckeye Police apprehended a suspected carjacker on December 23 after receiving a license plate reader alert about a stolen vehicle in the area of Miller Road and Pima Street.
Officers quickly located the stolen pickup truck and conducted a high-risk traffic stop, arresting the adult male driver. During their investigation, police discovered the suspect was wanted in connection with a recent carjacking in California that left the victim hospitalized.
The arrest was made possible through the use of license plate readers, a key tool of the Buckeye Police Real Time Intelligence Center (RTIC). This technology enabled officers to act swiftly, aiding in the pursuit of justice for the injured victim.
